Kirsti Akkermann

Kirsti Akkermann, PhD

Kirsti is a certified clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, and supervisor.
She obtained her doctoral degree in psychology from the University of Tartu in 2010. In her doctoral thesis she focused on the biological markers of eating disorders. Currently, her research focuses on the interplay between genes, personality traits, and the environment in the development of mental disorders. She is also interested in exploring the underlying mechanisms of emotional eating and eating disorders, as well as different coping modalities.
She has completed the full training in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy at the Estonian Association for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as well as intensive training in dialectical behaviour therapy. Additionally, she is trained in motivational interviewing, family therapy, and self-compassion therapy.
Kirsti has been working as a psychologist since 2000, working primarily with adults and adolescents. She has previously been employed in the inpatient general psychiatry unit at the Psychiatric Clinic of Tartu University Hospital, as well as in a treatment center for eating disorders and a private clinic. Kirsti is a professor in clinical psychology at the Institute of Psychology of the University of Tartu.

Karol Soidla

Kärol is a certified clinical psychologist and clinical child psychologist.
She graduated with a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Tartu in 2017, and is currently pursuing doctoral studies focusing on the role of perfectionism and impulsivity in the development of disordered eating behaviour.
She has completed the advanced training in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy at the Estonian Association for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as well as intensive training in dialectical behaviour therapy.
Kärol has been working as a psychologist since 2017, currently also as a clinical psychologist in the general psychiatry department at the Psychiatric Clinic of Tartu University Hospital, and as a junior lecturer of clinical psychology at the Institute of Psychology of the University of Tartu. Kärol works with children, adolescents and adults.

Katrin Kukk

Katrin s a certified clinical psychologist.
She obtained her doctoral degree in psychology from the University of Tartu in 2020. Her doctoral thesis focused on the risk factors of binge eating and overeating, including difficulties in emotion regulation.
She has completed the advanced training in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy at the Estonian Association for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as well as the intensive training in dialectical behaviour therapy. Additionally, she is trained in motivational interviewing, schema therapy, and mindfulness-based psychotherapy.
Katrin has been working as a psychologist since 2015, currently also as a clinical psychologist in the general psychiatry department at the Psychiatric Clinic of Tartu University Hospital, with a particular focus on working with adults.

Sheryl Võsu, MA

Sheryl is a certified clinical psychologist.
She graduated with a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Tartu in 2019, and has completed the full training in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy at the Estonian Association for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Additionally, she is trained in motivational interviewing, solution-focused brief therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy.
Sheryl has been working as a psychologist since 2018, currently also working at the Psychiatric Clinic of Viljandi Hospital working with children, adolescents and adults.

Maris is a certified clinical psychologist and clinical child psychologist.
She graduated with a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Tartu in 2009. Maris has completed the advanced training in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy at the Estonian Association for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as well as the intensive training in dialectical behaviour therapy. Additionally, she is trained in solution-focused brief therapy, and family therapy.
Maris has been working as a psychologist since 2004, working with adolescents and adults.

Helo Liis is a certified clinical psychologist.
She graduated with a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Tartu in 2021. She is currently continuing her studies pursuing a doctoral degree focusing on elaborating classification systems for psychiatric disorders.
Helo has completed the advanced training in cognitive behavioural psychotherapy at the Estonian Association for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, as well as intensive training in dialectical behaviour therapy.
She has been working as a psychologist since 2021, currently working with both adolescents and adults.

Marleen has been working as a psychologist since 2020, currently also in the department of ambulatory at the Psychiatric Clinic of Tartu University Hospital. She is currently working with both adolescents and adults under the supervision of a clinical psychologist.

Liis graduated with a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Tartu in 2024. She is currently continuing her studies pursuing a doctoral degree focusing on the research of feeding disorders and related risk factors. Previously, she has obtained a master’s degree in humanities from the University of Vienna.
Liis has completed the introductory course in cognitive behavioural therapy. Liis has been working as a psychologist since 2022. She is currently working with children, adolescents and adults under the supervision of a clinical psychologist.
Her working languages are Estonian, English and German.

Helina Piip, MA

Helina graduated with a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Tartu in 2024. Previously, she has obtained a master’s degree in technical sciences from the Tallinn University of Technology.
She has completed the introductory course in cognitive behavioural therapy. Helina has been working as psychologist since 2023, providing counselling to both adolescents and adults under the supervision of clinical psychologist.

Lisbeth graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Tartu in 2023. She is currently continuing her studies, pursuing a master’s degree, and works as an assistant in our center.
